The Accounting Department was established with the founding of the College of Business Administration in 2008. The department aims to prepare and develop professionally specialized accountants in the field of accounting within an educational and research environment committed to quality standards and active community partnership.
The department offers two academic programs:
- The first leads to a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- The second leads to a Professional Master’s degree in Accounting
The Bachelor’s program, which is considered one of the fundamental pillars for practicing the accounting profession, is designed to provide graduates with a solid foundation in accounting, advanced knowledge in diverse accounting fields, and related business disciplines such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, corporate accounting, taxation, international accounting, advanced accounting, governmental accounting, non-profit organizations, financial markets, economics, and business administration.
The department’s study plan consists of 138 credit hours, distributed as follows:
- 82 credit hours for college requirements
- 39 credit hours for specialization requirements
- 17 credit hours for specialization-related requirements
Regarding the Professional Master’s Program in Accounting, which was activated in the second semester of the academic year 1446 AH, students are required to complete 48 credit hours. The study plan has been designed from the outset to ensure integration and coherence among courses, fulfilling labor market needs in Saudi Arabia (public and private sectors), while equipping students with scientific knowledge, practical expertise, and professional skills.

Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting may also pursue careers in accounting education, continue postgraduate studies, or work in accounting departments across various colleges and universities.
