Under the patronage of Honorable Dean Dr. Nasser S. Al-Kahtani, Honorable Vice Dean Dr. Ali bin Saleh Al-Zahrani and Admin Manager Mr. Mohammed Abdulmatloob Hamdan, the Students’ Activities Committee organized a workshop under the title:
“Coping with Exam Pressures”
The workshop was presented by Mr. Bassem Abdurrahim Ayoub, Lecturer in the Department of Management Information Systems and Supervisor of Student Affairs Unit of the College.
The workshop covered the examination and its relevant physical and psychological problems and stressed that a preliminary plan as well as time table should be prepared to study the courses and the efforts should be made to complete the study before exam starts. Also, a summary of whatever a student has studied should be written. It should be avoided to study late night. Get enough sleep, take the breakfast and pray daily Salah as it refreshes the brain and increases the mental capacity.
Also, the workshop explained about the meaning of exam pressures and psychological and physical effects which are caused by the pressures. Some steps were advised which can help to decrease the negative effects of the pressures such as: a student should be well organized and he should know that how to benefit from time and the time should not be wasted. Also, some mechanisms and methods were presented to the students which help them to relieve their stresses and get their negative feelings changed to the positive ones. Some important and valuable advices and instructions were given to the students. In the end, the attendee students were given incentive prizes through draw.
