أقامت لجنة العمل المشترك بالجامعة مع المديرية العامة لمكافحة المخدرات محاضرة توعوية بعنوان "سبل الوقاية من المخدرات والتدخين"، وذلك يوم الثلاثاء الموافق ٢٧-٣-١٤٤٣ه في قسم الطالبات بكلية إدارة الأعمال بالخرج. قدمت المحاضرة أ.د. سناء محرم كمال -أستاذ الأمراض الباطنية بكلية الطب واستشاري الأمراض الباطنية بالمستشفى الجامعي، وذلك تحت إشراف المنسقة أ. شيخة العتيبي. هدفت المحاضرة إلى توعية الطالبات ومنسوبات الجامعة والمجتمع المحلي حول الآثار السلبية للتدخين والمخدرات على الفرد والمجتمع، وسبل الوقاية من أضرار المخدرات وآفة التدخين. من أهم المحاور التي ذكرت بالدورة: مخاطر التدخين على النساء والأطفال على وجه الخصوص، وأثر التدخين  القسري (الغير مباشر- السلبي) على السيدات والأطفال، وكذلك أسباب إدمان المخدرات ومخاطر الإدمان، وكيفية الوقاية من خطر الإدمان، وكذلك تمت الاشارة إلى علامات الشخص المدمن وكيفية علاج إدمان المخدرات. في نهاية المحاضرة تم الاستماع لآراء واستفسارات الحضور، وتقديم الشكر للأستاذة الدكتورة سناء، والتمنى لها بدوام التوفيق.
