Dr. Tarek Taufique El-Khateb, Assistant Professor in the College of Business Administration and Dr. Mohammad Tarique Intezar, Assistant Professor in the College of Business Administration in Hotah Bani Tamim participated in the International Conference of Economic Sciences which was held in Aligarh Muslim University, India during the period 4-5/January/2016 GC under the title of “Make in India”.
Dr. Tarek El-Khateb and Dr. Tarique Intezar presented a scientific paper in the conference entitled:
“Indo-Saudi Economic and Trade Relations: A Comparative Study for Inclusive Growth”
The research paper discussed the economic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India, development of bilateral trade and size of bilateral investments between the two countries during the period 2000 – 2014 GC. Also, it focused on the opportunities available to strengthen the relation, push the economic development and mechanisms of benefit from the economic resources of these two countries.
The research concluded that the trade exchange between K.S.A and India will help to achieve a big diversification in the foreign trade resources of the Kingdom. Also, the study showed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the trading partners of India and is ranked fourth (4th) among the trading partners. The Kingdom provides to India with its requirements of energy and fuel as the Indian Market is ranked fifth (5th) for Saudi Exports.
Also, the study discussed trade and investment indicators and found that there are many investment opportunities between the two countries. In the end, the study recommended to improve the economic relations between K.S.A and India, strengthen the trade exchange between the two countries, increase the investment opportunities and open broad prospects for Indian workers in the Kingdom.
