About the department

There is no doubt that the growth of legal knowledge in the face of the problems of modern life, and the acceleration of the issuance of various regulations in the Kingdom, constituted an urgent necessity for the preparation of distinguished specialists in the field of legal studies in the various activities related to the work of the government and private sectors. Hence the role of Saudi universities is to contribute to the upgrading of the educational and research level in the field of legal sciences, and for this reason the idea of having a law department has become an urgent necessity in order to start an educational and research renaissance in the field of legal sciences that will be a beacon to be followed in other Arab countries.

The Department of Law was established in 1429 AH, and studies began in this department at the beginning of the academic year 1430/1431 AH.

Department’s goals

The objectives of the Law Department are:

_ Keeping abreast of recent developments in the study of legal sciences in its various branches, which allows for identification of theoretical and practical issues and problems of legal applications.

_ Follow-up of societal political phenomena related to the Saudi context, which allows for engagement in community issues in terms of diagnosis and treatment, while providing opinion and advice to the decision-maker.

_ Giving privacy to the Department of Law at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University to ensure its distinction from other law departments in other universities, as well as taking into account the Saudi privacy and the Arab Islamic privacy.

_ Increasing the spirit of competitiveness of the department's graduate students, whether in the field of work or in the field of postgraduate studies and scientific research.

_ Cultivating the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of the department’s staff and students, and educating them to love the homeland, devotion to it, respect for the law and its application, and prepare them to spread these concepts to be role models for others.
