The College of Business Administration organized a workshop entitled: “Sharing Economy: A new Perspective to Business and change in the mindset” under the auspices of Honorable Dean Dr. Nasser S. Al-Kahtani. The workshop was presented by Dr. Mohammad Rishad Faridi, Assistant Professor in Marketing Department.
The presenter pointed out that human capital needs to live up to and cope with the expectation of sustainability regime, with the dramatic shift in the business approach of thinking and doing business. Today’s business has graduated well from a currency economy to a knowledge economy and now being the sharing economy.
The Presenter unveiled certain winning strategies i.e. infusing innovation, sharing, optimization of assets etc. especially by the generation-Y or Millennial generation to be able to be adaptive, agile, resilient etc. in today’s business environment through enriching human capital capabilities, capacities and connectivity. How sustainability of electricity, water etc. can be embedded into their quality work life ?
The Learning Outcomes of this workshop include Evolution of sharing economy, Factors impacting the sharing economy business model, Core collaborative consumption pattern on holistic perspective, Core collaborative consumption pattern from sustainability perspective towards water and electricity industry, generation Y’s role in driving a pattern of socio-economic eco system approach towards sharing economy, and Be able to leverage the proactive approach in this dynamic environment-some recommendations.
