Under the patronage of Honorable Dean Dr. Nasser S. Al-Kahtani, Accounting Department of College of Business Administration organized a seminar entitled:
“Practices of Internal Audit in Government and Private Sector”
The Honorable Mr. Osamah Al-Hudaithi, senior consultant of Council of “Capital Market Authority” and executive member of council of “The Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors” addressed the seminar. Also, Dr. Ala Mohammed Maloain, Supervisor of Accounting Department, Dr. Tarek El-Khateb, Chair of Students Activities Committee, Dr. Nabil Ahmad Senan, Faculty in Accounting Department delivered speeches in the Seminar.
The Seminar discussed the reality of internal audit in both government and private sector in addition to the introduction of internal audit, elements of its development, intellectual framework, functions, conditions to make it effective, role of audit committees, methods to boost audit function, its maintenance, improve the level and quality of its performance, role of internal audit in protecting the assets, combat corruption, tasks, limits and nature of internal audit function in the company and its important standards and basic requirements which must be provided for an effective system of internal audit, challenges and difficulties facing the administration in both private and government sector, concept of governance, and its importance in internal audit.
The seminar was organized in the frame of partnership of Accounting Department with the external community, specially, the associations relevant to the profession and role of Accounting such as “Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants” (SOCPA) and “The Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors” (IIA).
