Under the patronage of Honorable Dean Dr. Nasser S. Al-Kahtani, Honorable Vice Dean Dr. Ali bin Saleh Al-Zahrani and Admin Manager Mr. Mohammed Abdulmatloob Hamdan, the College of Business Administration welcomed Mr. Mack Moyer and Mr. Foad Ibrahim, the representatives of “Pearson”, which is a British multinational publishing and education company headquartered in London. It is the largest education company and the largest book publisher in the world.
The visit came in the frame of interest of CBAK pertaining to scientific research, publication, development of tools supporting to educational process particularly course books, the courses offered to students, mechanism of interactive education whether it is related to homework or learning resources, efforts for its diversification and getting benefit from advanced technology in Education.
Mr. Mack and Mr. Foad gave a presentation about the use of technology in education and shed light on the concept of MyLabs, the mechanism of its execution and the Blended Learning in which a student learns at least in part through delivery of content and instruction via digital and online media with some element of student control over time, place, path, or pace while still attending a “brick-and-mortar” school structure, face-to-face classroom methods are combined with computer-mediated activities. In the end, he talked about the e-books, pilot learning and mechanism to motivate students to get information and do interaction with latest learning resources such as Internet, Smart Phones and the advanced books & courses.
