College of Business Administration organized a lecture under the title: “Entrepreneurship – Opportunities and Challenges” on 02/11/2017 GC with cooperation of “Center of Employment and Entrepreneurship Services” in Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University as a preamble to organize introductory meeting of “Entrepreneurs” (an entrepreneurship program which is one of the initiatives of “National Transformation” in Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University).
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Suhail Ajina, Head of Marketing Department and Vice Dean for Quality & Development. It is worth mentioning that the lecture touched on several aspects including introduction to the concept of entrepreneurship, difference between entrepreneurial project and traditional project as well as the difference between businessman and entrepreneur. Also, Dr. Ahmed explained the important opportunities and challenges facing the entrepreneurs in the Kingdom and appropriate mechanism to overcome them.
The lecture came at a time when the “Centre of Entrepreneurship” in the University is starting activation of its activities which contain contribution to disseminate the culture of entrepreneurial idea, rehabilitate a generation able to compete in the job market through providing appropriate environment, orientation, training, assistances and consultations to get the finance necessary to launch these projects. Also, the Centre aims to activate the role of youths to contribute effectively in building a prosperous economy and at the same time rehabilitate them to adapt to the latest developments and strengthen their competitive ability through launching entrepreneurial and innovative projects. One of the objectives of the Centre is to activate the role of effective community participation that contributes to finance, build the entrepreneurial projects and strengthen the communication. In this way, the experiences and skills will be exchanged between the entrepreneurship houses. Also, the Centre makes every effort to support and assist youths in transferring their ideas and entrepreneurial researches to projects and practices.
It is worth mentioning that this lecture is part of preparations of CBA for participation in the “Second Scientific Conference” which is organized by the University for its students (male/female). Lectures are being organized on the theme of “Entrepreneurship” which started with a lecture by Dr. Ajina under the title of “Entrepreneurial Projects from Idea to Execution” on 07/11/2017 GC as he explained with detail about the role of Centre of Entrepreneurship and the services it provides to thinkers and owners of entrepreneurial projects. Also, he discussed the mechanisms and procedures through which the entrepreneurial projects can be executed starting from the idea and ending to entrepreneurial product. Also, he shed light on the elements of success of entrepreneurial project and the characteristics which must be found in a successful entrepreneur. He ended his lecture with answers to the questions of attendees, specially, the questions related to the problems facing entrepreneur in the Kingdom and concepts or suggestions that can guarantee to overcome those problems.
