Under the auspices of Dr. Nasser S. Al-Kahtani, the Honorable Dean, Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Zahrani, Honorable Vice Dean for Educational & Academic Affairs and Mr. Mohammad Abdul Matloob Hamdan, respected Admin Manager, and in the presence of Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Sharari, respected Safety Manager, Mr. Hamd Murtik Al-Kahtani, respected Head of Evacuation Department, all safety technicians, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Abdullah Al-Dawsari and Sergeant Mohammad Salim Al-Dawsari.
The College of Business Administration carried out a successful “Fire Evacuation Exercise” as the college building was evacuated from the students, faculty members and all employees. Before the exercise, respected Admin Manager explained with detail about the preparations and all measures taken by the “Evacuation Committee of the College” to face the emergencies as well as he indicated to the numbers of emergency exits in the building.
The exercise started at 09:00 am as respected chair of Evacuation Committee of the College Dr. Nasser S. Al-Kahtani was informed that a lecture hall of the College has caught fire and the fire can extend to other lecture halls. The committee evacuated the building within a record time of one and half minute. A student Mr. Abdullah Al-Khathlan used Fire Extinguisher to extinguish the artificial fire and directed other students towards emergency exits with the cooperation of the Committee. All students and Faculty Members gathered in the “Assembly Point” outside of the building and it was made sure that the building has been evacuated completely from all students. Also, the number of students has been counted using their attendance sheets for those students who were taking their lectures at the time of fire.
The Admin Manager of the College stressed that the exercise was very useful and it was a part of internal evacuation plans of the College which will raise the preparation level of the college faculty, students and employees for any accidents. The college is keen to implement the highest standard of the safety to save life and property and to raise awareness in regard to the fire or any other possible dangers.
The representative of Civil Defense in Al-Kharj province praised and appreciated the fast evacuation from the building and hailed the efforts of those who participated in the execution of evacuation exercise which aimed to know the extent of preparations of all to face emergency and different circumstances and training of the college employees to take safety and security procedures and prepare safe places where students can get together.
